Oh boy... That's gonna be a MF'r to get to...

I used a 12" flexible snake adapter(for lack of a better term) for my DeWalt impact (they sell them at Wally world for sure. never looked at Lowe's or HD)to get to the screw by the hump. Lucky I didn't have the other shit in the way like you.Scottyboy or some one in that thread said they un did 2 and lossened the one by the hump and let it hang I think. Doesn't change the rest of the hassle though.:)

it`s been a long time since i changed one but i swear they took no more than 5 mins to change...:dunno: and you only needed to take out one screw...:wtf:

Lucky you. as I said for mine 5 total.:dunno:

Yeah, i didn't fully remove the screw above the trans hump. It was even more of a PITA because I have a center console and the screw is behind the console. I couldn't even see it, I could feel it though, so I knew if I removed it I wasn't gonna be able to get it back in.

Well, I took out the fire extinguisher, moved all the control boxes and the radio aside, pulled the ash tray and the glovebox, moved all the wires, got all the screws out of the duct (4 of them with 6.5mm heads - 1/4" drive finger ratchet worked fine for the ones near the hump) and found... nothing. No filter(s) (Napa and other places say there should be two), no place to actually put filters, just the duct and the a/c evaporator. No way to get to the duct above that without removing half the dash, and no way in from the outside unless I remove the wipers and maybe the hood. :dunno:

Oh, and it was all nice and clean, which surprised me for an 11 year old truck.

Wow. Well here is a PDF from the sticky about changing the cabin filters and I'll be damned if they aren't saying that some ARE through the cowl vents some even behind the glove box. What a cluster F.:(

Jeez a lou. Good luck.:)

I've already checked that PDF Bubba. According to Wix my filter is the 24805. When you look in the PDF for that number it shows photos on how to change it... except my system looks nothing like the setup in the photos. :dunno:
