Stiff gas pedal

I have 2 1984 chevys and both have the stiffest gas pedals ever, the throttle linckage on the carm moves easy tho, what do i do to fix? thank you

Press harder on the pedal....? Just kidding. I would look and see if it is binding somewhere. It might have gotten rusty where it passes through the firewall.

Is that all linkage or part cable? If it's a cable, they tended to corrode internally and bind a bit. I remember on carbed engines, the return spring tension was something to look at too.

I agree with both and delt with both of the above in a few of my vehicles.

Just kidding It may need a new throttle cable.

agree with the cable. Lube it up. there is a little green and black bottle that I used to get at motorcycle shops that was graphite, it had a long really thin metal tube that would fit inside the sleeve, squeeze it in and move the cable until it moves. or just replace the cables.
