Gotts mod done! pic later!

Do you notice a seat of the pants difference? I wanna do this too. Do you need to get a custom tune so you don't run lean?

I couldn't find ABS at our local HD or Lowes????
Gotts mod will be the same difference as a regular CAI. It's by far the most cost-efficient way to accomplish the increased airflow. I wish I would have done it. I'll sell you my Air Force 1. :D It's not a seat-of-the-pants difference but it does make the front end sound badass. Usually if you have exhaust the rear end sounds good but the front end sounds like an engine. Adding a CAI (or in this case, Gotts mod) makes the front end sound much more aggressive.

You don't need a custom tune for it but it sure as heck doesn't hurt.

What size AF1 do you have Matt? I was lead to believe anything over the 3" ID needed a custom tune. I'm running the older 3.25" ID AF1.

ok just got home, You most certainly can feel a difference when you rev the engine and when you mash it to pass some one. I reloaded my edge at the same level, its just like disconnecting the battery to reset the computer. As soon as I turned it on it reved quicker. it sounded like it was just gulping air. When I got on the freeway it growled better. It even made the exhaust sound better. pics are loading

ok I didnt have my slr at work so I snapped these a few minutes ago. I went to home depot and they had the abs in 2 foot sections for almost $6. I went to an ACE looking for 3' PVC but they didnt have any so I just bought a foot of ABS for $2.50. I had to use a grinder and reduce the end that goes into the inner fender. So I went from this:

to a 3 inch opening:

here you can see how the pipe is so restrictive, it just shrinks at the fender opening:

My engine compartment needs a good detail but here is the finished product:

I asked for it at home depot and they showed me the 2 foot piece. I was trying to avoid the whole shaping the end of the pipe but it was inevitable at the end. No tune needed since it wont make you run lean. I got the abs at an ACE hardware store. it was a mom & pop place I've been going to since I was a kid.
