I'm probably getting another truck it will be used but new for me. I have decided it will be a Chevy or Ford. I will be gas V8 engine and automatic trany. Undecided if its gonna be a 2wd or 4wd. I would like to have a 8 wheel truck and 8 foot bed. Just what to know what features are good to have and what features to stay away from. I know lately there's been alot problems with transmissions as of late.

Here's some more features would like to have not sure if gonna be in the price range. supercab, crewcab, tow package, 8 foot bed, cd player/or one that I can put a cd player in,

The only way it would be a diesel if it was a giveaway price type of deal and was a duramax w/allison trany.

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
One vote for the Chebby!

Seriously though, my GMT900 Chevy is one of the best trucks I've encountered. I preferred the styling over the 2007 Ford (when I was shopping), and definitely more than the newest Fords. BUT there's probably just as many guys who feel the exact opposite way!

I was made a believer in 4WD this winter. I know VA winters likely aren't too bad but our winter was sure gnarly in Iowa.

Just go drive some and get what you like!

I say a GM, but I am biased. :D

What is your budget and what platform(year models) do you care for? You can get some real good deals on the '800 series with the Dmax/ally. If you can wait, fuel prices are creeping up. I am sure by the summer the truck prices will be ripe for the picking.

What's your budget? Will the truck be used for work? Just a daily driver? Both? Offroad toy? We need some more info.

And good luck finding an 8 wheel truck, most come with 4. :jester:

I say a GMT900 supercab would be great. I am a big guy and loved the roomy feeling inside of that truck. I really like the new features of those trucks like the "suicide" doors open a full 170* (I think). But they are the best looking trucks on the market right now. Besides the 04-08 :ford: F150s :D2

You can get a 2wd one for pretty cheap with somewhat low miles too

Good luck with your purchase

This will be daily driver, work truck and junk hauling truck. The 90 C2500 will be the play toy and back up truck.

I meant a truck that has 8 lug wheel bolt pattern not 8 wheels.

Well in that case you need a 3/4 or 1 ton.

Why, may I ask, do you want a 8 Lug bolt pattern?

Yep, very tough one to answer without an idea of budget, and knowing how used you intend to get.
