Drove it to Carmax, and bought the son, his 1st car!

A 2000 Celica GT, 5spd!
That's a great first car. I bet he's stoked!

Yeah he's a happy fellar right now! Hopefully it'll kick in his suppressed car genes!

Now I have to teach him to drive a 5spd!:lol:

When Alan turned 16 I gave him a Nissan Pickup with a 5 speed. A few trips to the local High School parking lot and he was driving it like a pro. I think it helped make him the good driver he is today. Manual transmissions make you "feel" the car more because you have to pay attention to it.

Left the doors open for a couple hours to let some of that nice fresh warm spring air breeze through.

I took my new GMC All-Terrain wheels that just came yesterday and brought them over and made sure they were true. And also made him move the wheel weights to the inside of the wheel, so the finish doesn't go away in a few years where the wheel weight is.

That's good thinking... especially in the land of salt and winter!

That's exactly the reason I wanted him to have a manual. We think alike:cool:
:uhoh: I don't jack about Celicas, I never fit in any gen except this one, so I wasn't interested in them. I didn't realize how quick they were, for what they are!

The kid got his first car, and Dad's got a new toy!:naughty:

This little Celica will scoot. :uhoh:
Maybe something slower would've been a better choice!:dunno:

I learned how to drive stick in our 89 international tow truck. 5 speed with the switch on the shifter for the rear end. Drove it everyday for 2 years.
