Personally, I would pass on it. Especially if you are doing a 454 big block. I bought one like it when I was doing an IH 345. Which weighs a bit more than a 350. It bounced way too much for my liking. Went back to Harbor Freight and bought the 2000# engine stand. I like it alot better. Since she won't deal off of the $65, I would add $30 more and get the better stand.

YMMV

These sell new at harbor freight for $50 here.

Give em $30 or go buy it new.

Yes they can hold a SBC. I have used mine(just like that one pictured) on them. I'd be a little scketchy on a BB. Its not that the stand can't hold it, it that it can tip over easy. The front bar needs to be wider to support a heavier engine.

Just curious as to where you're finding these V4 engines. :D2

nowhere yet. This is a 750 pound stand. She lowered price to 40 bucks. still might pass on it. I want one that can the weight of a sb or bb engine.

Let me know when you come across a V4.

I was talking about a 4cylinder engine (V4).

What I was getting at, is that almost every 4 cylinder engine that you will come across, is an I4 (inline 4), and just about all of the rest will be horizontally opposed 4s (boxer engines, like Subarus).

I'm not sure there was ever a production car in the US with a V4.
