How to replace a front window regulator in a GMT800 SUV

It won't get done for a few days. No way in hell is my back gonna let me do that.

You should be fine. Grab a stool to sit on while you do this an it really shouldn't affect your back at all. There's no real bending or twisting required.

Yep. There are plenty of cheaper options, but this was something I wanted done right away and with parts that I could take back should anything go awry.

It works great.

I have changed two out on my truck already, the hardest part is getting the door panel off and back on...after that its simple stuff!

I made sure of that, before I put it down. You can tell by the way it acts, whether or not it is frozen. It started to come right down, and wasn't hung up, just slow.

Damn this reminds me that my back door is still bad. I never roll it down so I honestly forgot all about it. I still need to replace the regulator in the back drivers side door on my truck. Its been bad for about 6 months now. Oh well, I'll get around to it sooner or later.

But I'll add the following:

I got mine from O'reilly. $50 cheaper than dealer($150) and direct replacement gauranteed for life.(we'll see) About the same as the before mentioned $100.

I have NEVER done this before and used Chilton's(I fell yours is better they say remove window) GM guy (over the phone) and parts guy both said tape window also apply white lithium grease on the tracks. AFTER it's installed.

If you do it BEFORE please have a friend shoot video and post it back on here.

Two tips/tricks I found was if the light feels stubborn PRIOR to lifting out,un do the bolt on the under side of door remove pocket and reach in and unplug.(mine was swelled and never removed.)

If the tweeter wire is on too short of a leash(I can't remember) now is the time to splice an extension(if you want) then after you pop the controls out you simply reach in and un plug.

Again I have NEVER done this before. For you who are "iffy" on doing this follow daddys write up. With the panel removed and the part and tools near by WITH snapping a pic of the new AND a smoke break I had it installed and the whole door back together and working in under 45 minutes.

DISCONNECT battery BEFORE doing this.

I "thought" I could do it without untill (the seemingly un movable taped window that didn't roll down without the fucking tape and whole reason for replacing this started coming down)
