How to replace a front window regulator in a GMT800 SUV

Sorry but why disconnect the battery?:dunno:

It rules out "what ifs".

Operator errors mostly. If you have the ignition on to make sure the window is up then tape if you left the key on as soon as you hit the button (when you flip the pad over to disconnect)the window starts going down.

With pad disconnected and key left on(if you get side tracked or wear headphones or have a load radio on ) the vehicle radio runs and the lights stay on because they don't know the doors open. Dead battery(yes it happened ONCE)

I've done it plenty of times with out disconnecting but if you are trying this for the first time any combination of things can occur causing problems leading one to beleive they shorted something out or as I said drain the battery. If you don't have a charger (like I do) or a second vehicle(my GFs or neighbor) and cables then you are stranded at home waiting.

I'm by no means an expert nor a novice,but I figure if I can make newb mistakes then a newb could/would (by definition) so if I can help someone else from avoiding unecessary headaches I try.:thumbs:
