BlackBear tune installed !

I just got back from my meeting with Justin.

First off. Super friendly customer service. Right down to the handshake when we met, and the handshake when we parted ways.

I couldn't have asked for a better guy to deal with.

Now the fun part.
Wow! Man my truck is like a whole different animal.
It will actually throw you back in your seat when you punch it.

My wife started pressing her head against the head rest at every red light we came to. :D

By far the best thing I have done to my truck

Thanks to all of those at Blackbear who helped me.

 I love my black bear tune! I even drove 700+ miles to get mine and it was completely worth it!

What octane did you go with? I went with regular to save money, but now I'm thinking I might get it pushed up to premium after I graduate and have a good job.

I went with the 93.
People claim you can get better MPG with the 93. Not to mention it's cleaner to burn.

I did some figuring and if its true about getting better MPG with the 93 octane, then it adds up to be about the same price

I used the gas prices around my house so the numbers may vary. But at least it gives you an idea.

$2.37 for 89 octane gas x 26 gallons= $61.62 to fill tank.
$2.57 for 93 octane gas x 26 gallons= $66.82 to fill tank.

If you get a 1 MPG increase from the 93 tune then.......

(numbers are just for average)

20 MPG on 89 x 26 gallons = 520 miles per tank
21 MPG on 93 x 26 gallons = 546 miles per tank

You got 26 more miles out of your tank of 93 octane.
Which is a little better than a gallon of gas (using numbers above) $ 2.57 dollars saved

So....
A tank of 89 octane gas is $61.62
A tank of 93 octane gas is $66.82

Minus the $ 2.57 you save ($66.82-$2.57= $64.25)

That gives you a $2.63 difference between filling your tank with 89 and 93.

Not to mention the added power from the 93 tune, the cleaner burning gas, etc....

Good deal, money well spent going with the 93 octane tune. After the first few fill ups you will stop thinking about the extra money at the pump.
