Nice thread. subscribed

When you say 2-3 layers of the asphalt stuff, do you mean you are putting directly over the 1st layer?
With the diesel, over sized tires, and straight exhaust sound, going down the road is quite noisy in my truck. I'm thinking about doing sound deadener to help quiet the interior down a bit. I have some left over material from when I did my F150's system, but not enough to do the whole truck.
Does the stuff you recommend stick well? Does it really make that much difference? Will it stick well to the roof? I did notice my F150 was a bit quieter but I'm not sure it will help in this truck

Yep I just put each new layer over the previous layer. I pulled the thin layer of carpet-type material off the back wall today, and all the stuff I put on is holding great. It did make quite a difference for me. I have since upgraded my exhaust and I am curious to how it would sound without the deadening.

I believe it will stick well to the roof. As long as you use a roller and apply it firmly it will stick no problems. The difference isn't massive, but it's definitely noticeable. If you have the spare time to get it done it's worth it.

As for the amp, I got it working again. It turns out my ground connection wasn't that great, so I relocated it and it's working like a charm.

You should do a write-up on how to install sound deadening! I'd do one but my truck's already done.

Thanks man. Sound deadening is a big project for our trucks, especially getting out the back seats. It's worth it, though. You say you don't need subs but I'll also be selling my MTX Thunderform. It's preloaded with the sub and amp. It's not enough for me but if you ever decide you want some low-end fill let me know. I think it'd be just about right for ya. Then again it's about time you quit spending money.

I'm done after the HU. Then it is 100% saving up for wheels & tires. That is a huge hurdle !
