Maybe the bypass is built into my Viper setup? I didn't buy a module. Danny at Star dove under the dash and had me out the door in about 15 minutes. :dunno:

Wow that is super fast. Plug and play setup?

Danny is a wizard at this stuff. All he does is add stuff on new trucks all day long.

I certainly do not claim to be any kind of expert here. Scotty is in the biz and he knows his shit. It's possible that Danny did the module while under the dash... :dunno:

You'd have to have a decent amount of work done to have the factory kit installed. It's more than just the remotes. Your best bet is to go aftermarket and get a kit that includes remote start. I am having a Viper 5301 (one-way) kit installed on the 13th. All total it's running me about $330.

There are cheaper kits though, such as the Viper 5101 (one-way but still effective) that only run about $210, installed + the bypass module which you can pick up for $39 online and have installed for another $30 or so.

$280 will have you setup nicely.

let me know how you like it. i'm thinkin about getting one:D

Will do. It only comes with one two-way remote and one one-way remote but I bought a second two-way remote as well.

No security with the 5301 I'm installing, it's just remote start and keyless entry.

What does a one way and two way remote do?

One-way just sends signals to the car. Two-ways can receive signals from the car so the remote can tell you whether the car responded or not and in the case of the 5301, whether or not the car is at temp.

I'm not sure about the GMT900's, but I know the 03-07 GMT800's have the doorlocks controlled by the databus. :dunno:

Yeah, once you have a two way system, you'll never go back. Just like once you get HID's you'll never wanna drive with stock bulbs ever again.

It's especially cool when you can't see or hear the vehicle to verify any other way.
