Good Aftermarket Battery

I want a good aftermarket battery to put in my F150. I just want a good battery with good CCAs and no i am not running any high output electronics I just want a good battery. I am planning on getting HIDs and maybe some aftermarket lights in the summer or so. And run rear fog lights for reverse

We use blue top optimas in our boats @ my work and we love the fact they are maintenance free and they work really well. I hear the yellow tops aren't what the used to be...don't know if thats true or not ??? SO HELP!!! What's your thoughts what y'all running

Others might not agree but I have always had good luck with Sear's Die Hard batteries. The Optimal Red top I have now I'm not impressed. I though I would give it a try. I will not be getting another one. May be I got a lemon out of the bunch.

I might try the Odyssey battery next, have read several good things about it on the one diesel forum I'm on.

DieHard/Duralast/Kirkland are all made from the same company. I got a Kirkland with 800CCA for $65 bucks at Costco. Works great for me

What don't you like about the Red Top?

Optima quality control has gone down a LOT since they started mass producing the batteries.

I Have a yellow top and it powers my hids and system just fine plus my electric fans and such for 2 years now with no problems. Starts right up every time, even when I leave the key on and let the stereo go for 30 mins or so.

I've always been a fan of Diehard as well. But now since I was just looking for one for my truck, they dont carry but one with a high enough CCA rating for me. The Die Hard Platinum (860CCA), which is a $180 battery. I bought one, then read about all the people having problems with the side post ones, seems its a design flaw the side posts are just lead "straps" hanging down from the tops posts and over time they will seperate and cause your truck to not start. I brought it back and ended up going with a 800 CCA Autocraft Gold from Advance auto parts. It has a 3 year free replacement warranty, and only 90 bucks.
