Patched the old shifter hole in the floorboard ..
Must redo the sound deading mat ..
Should have the crossmember here today ..

I've been knocked down drug out and left for dead
It almost looks like a piece of roofing slate at the top and right of your patch.

Think that's the old carpet ... ??
I have the replacement .. It's Limo carpet ..
Back when I installed the sound deading mat I didn't know what all would be needed to do to install the overdrive trans ..
Thoughts was at that time to reuse the hole for the t-case shifter .. As the trans was being built seen right off that wasn't going to happen ..
A whole new ballgame was at foot ..
Not a biggie ... Just a bit more work ...

Crossmember came in ...
Not going to be a Plug & Play gig .. !!
As with most all of parts for a Frankenstein there's a need for fine tuning ..
Lets see what a tad of Slice & Dice will do for it ... Want too ??
That's one, five more to go ...
Taking 1/2" off each side .. That should get it narrowed enough to fit ..

That's one side ... Threw on a few welds and will do a test fit on the truck ..
Test fit said .. "Close but no cigar !!"
Almost could bolt it on, but it would be rubbing on the pan ...
I'll do the other side ...

It's the wrong shift knob ..
Option "B"
Think Ill go with a wood shift knob that will match the Caddy horn button and dashboard ..
Something on this order ...
Wanted to keep the wireless four channel knob in play, but with the long stick it no longer looks like it belongs

Almost ..
Got a small bit of lean going on ..
Got to take the T-case shifter off and heat up the welded on arm for a very slight bend ..
At the moment it's ...
Found the knob that will be used ...
The chrome made the decision solid ..
( Dang old truck going to think it's a Bentley )
