Intrigued! Love to hear your impressions. If we keep the 5er, I want to do this. I already ditched the heavy slider 5th wheel I bought. **** that thing was heavy!

We are thinking about just trading in for a Host slide in camper, or downgrading everything now that I have a nicer company truck.

A nice smooth half ton sure does sound nice

@PenguinLTZ

If you keep the 5er, DO IT! It's so nice . Hookup is no harder at all, and having my bed back without having to lug a 5th wheel around is amazing.

Pulling is definitely smoother, next to no chucking at all, and the truck and the camper seem to feel like they're fighting each other less when you get where the camper is off camber to the truck.

With the 8ft bed, I could go full 90 degrees if needed without thinking about it (the length of the safety chains is my limiting factor at this point); On the short bed you could get most fo the way there with straight goose ball, if you got a 4" offset ball you'd be in even better shape.

It just seems there are issues with the 8sp to the point where people trade their truck in because the dealer can't/won't fix it 100%.
They got it fixed in the Camaro... New, updated fluid and a good flush, reportedly fix it.

Or upgrade to an aftermarket torque converter, lol.

I cut off the dust shields (those fWONkers burnt the saws all blade, and took over 1/4 out of the cutting/grinding disc! :D2:)

But the 35s are on, with some mild rubbing... But not as much as I thought [emoji23]

They look like they'd rub like hell.
