New shoes. Had them go through the front end, I replaced the steering gear box yesterday, they aligned it, also. Tires are 275-60-15s. Give it that old school look I like.20181124_132115.jpg20181124_132053.jpg

I apparently babied it too much yesterday before filling it up this morning on my way back from Arizona. :uhoh:

You got that kind of mileage on those new tires...

Yeah, the truck surprised me! Even with those new tires AND that chin spoiler gone.

I just had to keep the RPM down enough for it to DO that.

I remember when I had the Denali, I could run 78 MPH and get decent mileage on road trips. But, if I ran even 1 MPH more, the mileage would drop off QUICK. So, I'd just keep the cruise set at 78, even if the speed limit was higher (there are a few places in west Texas that are 80 or 85). I'd just stay in the 'slow' lane with the cruise set... But, I could go a lot farther between fill ups.

I think this one is geared a little differently or the tune is setup different for (I think they called) PE Mode. 72? Great mileage. 73? It'd start dropping off a cliff and the faster I went, the quicker it'd drop off. So, I set the cruise at 72, stayed out of the hammer lane unless someone was going slower than me, and moseyed my way towards the house.

72 to 75 gets pretty good mileage on mine, at least it did once and I got 16.2mpg. I average around 14 combined, 11 just commuting around town.

Before I left on this road trip, my around town average had dropped off from 17-18 to 15-16. I was thinking "it has over 50k miles on it. I probably should run some injector cleaner or something through it." NOPE! I need to lighten-up my heavy foot! (We'll see how the next few weeks go on that! :dunno:)

Those jackrabbit starts and stops kill fuel mileage. :rollin:
