Most of my commute is on the freeway. So, it's the higher speeds that kills it for me. :uhoh:
The speed limit up here is 70 in some places, but 60-65 in most. I'll often look down at the speedometer and say shit...I'm doing 85. :ohnoes:

Yeah. I've been lucky so far. I've looked down and been going faster than that...

So, I need to chill that stuff out before it bites me in the wallet! :uhoh: :paranoid:

It usually doesn't bother me speeding on the interstate, but in town I watch my p's & q's. To many little speed traps in these small towns around here. They'll get you for doing 37 in a 35 and to me, that's pure bullshit. State troopers and Sheriff's will normally give you 5 to 9 mph over. I had asked a deputy sheriff one time and he told me that depending on the mood they were in that they'd give you about 10% over of what the posted speed limit is.

What kind are they? I can't really make it out on the sidewall.:uhoh:
Its an off the wall brand, Milestar, Streetsteel. 40,000 mile tire. They were $600 installed. But they got me on the front end work. Total bill was $1052. The alignment is a 3 year alignment, so I can have it redone as many times as I want. They said that they will recheck it every 5000 miles when I come in for rotation and rebalance. Tires this size are getting hard to find, for my old truck with out going to a bigger rim. I had some Cooper Cobras on it 2 tires ago, and wasnt impressed. They were OK but thats all. My truck does ride better, and I should have better traction.

Yeah, most of the freeways around here are at least 65 mph. It's not uncommon to be going 75 or better and NOT be passing very many people.

You may as well figure on doing at least 10mph over in a few spots on certain highways or you'll get run over.

My truck had a brand I never heard of before on it when I bought it...Thunderer LT245/75/17. I punctured a sidewall on the left front, so I wound up getting another off brand to replace it. I just put four new Falken Wildpeak AT3W's of the same size on it for $781. I'll run them for the winter and put the other ones back on for the summer as they still have quite a bit of tread life left in them.
