Locked my damn keys in it. I had the window cracked open about a 1/2 inch, so I was able to get them out. I need to get a couple more cut. I only have the one set. I don't have the FAB or keyless entry, so is it possible to get keys for it cut at Lowes, or do I need to go to a dealer and have them cut them from the VIN#?

My GUESS would be that that truck is new enough to have some sort of security chip built-in to the key. So, you'll probably need to go to the dealer. I'm sure other guys will be more informed on that model than I am, though.

You can get door keys cut at Lowes, it just won't start the truck. Good for getting in when you lock them in, though.

You can get door keys cut at Lowes, it just won't start the truck. Good for getting in when you lock them in, though.

Thanks for the info Scott. I reckon I'll get some from the dealer in case I ever lose the ones I have.

Go to a lock smith, and they can cut a chipped key for you, and on a 2008 you can program them yourself. 2011+ you can't.

Trying to decide whether I want to buy a truck cap vs adding a bed rack to my truck for the roof top tent.

I went to a Truck Meet with other owners from the forum Overland Bound. One of the other owners had a truck cap with a rack on top of truck cap. It looked pretty sweet but I can't decide what I want to do.

Put some fresh Amsoil in it and a new Purolator One filter on it.
