It's in really great shape and all original! I'll post up some pics later in the spring once it's been cleaned up. we literally brought it home and put it in storage! :)

Awesome! Can't wait to see pics.

I'm still craving a diesel. When I borrowed one from the dealership and happened to have my trailer sitting in my driveway needing to be hauled to storage and I didn't pull it with the new truck. I couldn't even tell it was there.

There will be one in my future. Just need the family hauler first.

The truck pulled great; no motorcycles in the back of the camper, but fully loaded otherwise. The only complaint I have was a slight feeling of a sort of pushing and pulling from the camper. I assume it was the water in the fresh tank sloshing around? The fresh tank is 98 gallons and it was 3/4+ full. I may be way off on that, this camper is my first experience towing this heavy.

The truck itself was awesome. The ride was a couple hours, and involved a ton of 6-9% grades up and down through the berkshires. The climbs were a piece of cake, the diesel was definitely the right call. I can't imagine spending all that time listening to a 6.0 huffing at 4k+.

Speaking of 4k+, on the down slopes, the exhaust brake was great but there were a a couple times that the thing ran the engine up to almost 4k. That made me both annoyed and uncomfortable...is that normal? operator error?

I also want to get to a scale and see what my set up is doing. I don't like not knowing exactly what my load situation is. The truck and trailer are nice and level, but I'd like to know what my weights are.

I am surprised you felt any chucking at all. Maybe I am just too used to it. With the truck nice and level (you did air bags, right??) the water should not have been much of a factor. Let me know if you did bags, I can't remember.

Yeah they will spin up to 4K easy, when you are in tow-haul, coming down a grade with the turbo brake on, and stay on the pedal. The trans is programmed to downshift, and do all that it can to reduce speed. It is a bit unnerving, but it is normal. Just like everything else, you get used to it :D2 A little more practice, and you will get better at controlling all that. Tow-haul makes much more aggressive.

What was your mileage?

Yeah, man. I would love to see a scale ticket. I finally got one, and it is an eye-opener. These trailer GVWR stickers are a joke! Every camper and trailer I have had has been fairly loaded up with options, so it weighs right at the max rating. So basically you can take no gear with you, LOL! I go by tire ratings on trucks and trailers. As long as you know you have enough axle, load 'em up!

You will be ready for a tune and delete this winter!!

Bags are on the todo list, maybe I'll move them up and get them in for the long trip this month. Heading out to Wisconsin, so it would probably be nice to smooth it out a bit before that one.

It looks like I was getting between 11-12MPG on the two trips the last two weeks. I'll have better info on that after the Wisconsin trip when i get few full tanks through her while fully loaded.

Also, a side note: The Husky Centerline TS WD hitch does a great job keeping everything composed, but it's noisy as HELL when turning. My other WD hitches were basic Reese bar/chain setups, so I didn't have all the noise and banging.

Your bars need a little fine tuning... How much lower does the back of the truck sit with everything set up?

Should be around 3/4" or so lower than empty... Can you adjust your style of bars? Lol

It's maybe 1-1.5" lower loaded with the bars on. that makes the truck just about level since I didn't go full level with the front keys. I left the front about 1.5" to avoid staring at the sky when towing/hauling. I need to put the bikes in the back and take it to a parking lot and get both setups figured out. having any clue at all about tongue weight would help with that. are scale like below worth a shit?

You'll definitely have two settings for a tow hauler. Weight in the back makes a huge difference.

I've never used one of those scales before... But with most bumper pulls, you're looking about 10% of the GVW as tongue weight.

Any nearby DOT scales will get you a ballpark number, or if there's a CAT scale nearby, they're usually more accurate than DOT scales.
