Damn! The paranoia over the CP4 runs deep! I am reading about extreme fears, and some of these guys run additive every tank, have FASS with 2 micron filters AND a 2 micron filter on the OE head. I guess I have been lucky.
Shitty fuel and starvation kills it. 99% of CP4 failures are people fuelling from rig or slip tanks, or have drained their fuel rails.
Check your FPR's regularly. If you ever see anything, do the CP3 conversion.
I only had to do the pump on mine, because the FASS stopped the pump from chewing on its own guts.
But I also repeatedly drained my fuel rail.
The parts are all in. The exhaust showed today. It is a nice system, with a big 4" polished muffler. I bought some stainless .035 wire and helium shielding gas, so I can weld on the tip. Nothing looks more tacky than a clamped on exhaust tip.
