I am trying to get the linkage on my 2BBL 318 hooked back up but I am running into some problems. The throttle cable is just not going back in like it should. I have either put something together wrong, am missing something or just not seeing how it went together in the first place. Does anyone have some photographs that would help me?

I had a 318 in an old Dodge, but that was 35 years ago. I'm of no help due to the fact that my memory does not go back more than two weeks.

I really should have taken pictures. But I thought it was pretty cut and dry. So much for that theory.

Are you talking about the cable linkage or a linkage from the cable to the butterfly? Can you post a pic?

The throttle cable is the real issue. I will get some pictures tomorrow when I go to the shop.

Here is what I am dealing with. I know the metal end goes into the clamp behind the carb. But the amount of cable is throwing me off. Plus, the cable wants to naturally lay in the opposite direction.

It does. But I do not know what to do with the excess cable. I do not remember there being that much.
