Brian, what is the skinny in debadging these things? Still just glue on, no pin holes?
It's all glued on that I know about. Are there anymore badged than, Duramax emblem on the hood on both sides, 2500hd badge is removable as is the Chevy emblem on the tailgate.

What other badges did yours come with?

Just the Z71 stickers. It has the Z71 2500 grille, but there is nothing I can do about that.

It is in the shop getting the steps, Vent visors, PDI and matching canopy. Should have it tonight or tomorrow.

Jeff, I am sure it is a complete POS, built on Friday at 4:55, and missing all of that stuff. Fear not.

Man I want that same truck. If I wasn't house shopping I probably wouldn't be able to resist.

If you put AMSOIL in right away it should keep it from leaking. :D

Why waste wrap on places other than where cables splice into the harness or worry about some unpainted metal with a little surface rust? Every brand I've looked at has shit like that, just maybe not as obvious.

Haters gonna hate...

Not true, after seeing that and taking that pic (at the auto show), I checked out the Rams and the Fords and saw nothing even close to being that shoddy.

Made me think..if their workmanship is that shoddy on the simple details, why would it be any better on the the rest of the truck?

Cheap bastards.

What's so shoddy about it? On the harness it just looks like they just wrapped all the connections with one continuous strand of wrap. Started at one connection and wrapped it well, did a few wraps around the tube to keep it tight to the next connection then wrapped it well at that connection then continued down the harness until they were done. The rusty part is a fairly solid chunk of metal that will outlast the truck. Think Ram and Ford don't do the same? Take a look at some of the brake, suspension, and driveline pieces on anything sold and there's some scattered unpainted metal pieces with some surface rust. Take a look at some Ford forums, there's tons of complaints on the new F150 about the rear axle rusting and it's hung down low where anyone can see it, not up in the frame or under the hood.

And Penguin, why they hell have you not posted any pictures yet!?!? :fume:

You can defend that crap all you want, I don't care. I DID look at the competition's trucks and I did not seen any taped up wire harnesses. Hey, I have an idea, why not put all of the wires INSIDE the wire harness..I know, genius huh? I also did not see any rusty parts on their engines...at an auto show. This was a $70k GMC Sierra Denali HD.

Feel free to post up a pic of a Ford or Ram with rusty engine components and taped up wire harnesses with zero miles on the clock. I challenge you. ;)

I looked up some hi-res images of both the Ram and Super Duty and every harness I could see had taped splices on it, I don't know how else they would do it. The others just use black tubing instead of the bright orange so it doesn't contrast as bad. :dunno:

Didn't see any rust right at the top like the GM but I'd bet money there's visible rust somewhere under the hood of a brand new truck from either brand.

Jeff, this the hatred I mentioned.

Good God, man.

Matt, it is still at the dealer. I did sign all the paperwork :)

Now it is getting the Rhino sprayed THEN the Leer canopy install
