No, that's not a banana in my pants.
E-fans.

Even though that TSB only applies to 02-04 for some reason, it describes my symptoms EXACTLY!

Describes mine exactly too. EFF.

BTW, got this fixed. $299 for the Denso parts with a $50 rebate. Icy cold balls are back in business.
T, my compressor was about $300 as well. But no rebate. The 5% discount code from Rockauto did save me a few bucks though.
And Nick, the E-fans are still working great 3 summers later. I have since upgraded my stock 130a alternator to a 145a alt from a 04 Tahoe, and also added an overdrive pulley. I do still notice some voltage drop when the fans kick on at idle, but not nearly as bad as it was before the alt upgrade.
My AC blows ice cold even at idle, before the Efans I could feel the AC get noticeably warmer at stoplights than it was when the truck was moving.
I think the E-fans are probably one of the best upgrades I have done to my truck, with the DL3 folding signal mirrors a close second.
I wish I could have got mine that cheap. I remember spending about $500 or so on everything. Compressor, drier, orifice tube, PAG oil, new O-rings, few cans of 134a, and a new belt and belt tensioner.T, my compressor was about $300 as well. But no rebate. Mine was $299 for the compressor, dryer, orifice tube and o-ring kit. My AC is freaking cold as shit now though and I'm loving it!
