NASCAR is considering a radical change to its points system, one in which a 16-driver Chase for the Sprint Cup would be whittled down to four drivers who would all be tied going into the final race.

Seems like they're adopting a bracket system to fit the sport and one can't argue that it'll make the Championship more exciting but can't decide how I feel about it.

Well, doing a league would "change shit again." So, if we can get enough people, I'll run it. No big deal!

Maybe we should start a thread to gauge interest to make sure it's worth the time & effort?

I'm not sure what to make of the possible rule change, though.. To me, taking away a person's "consistency advantage" in the final race by resetting the few people who would still be in it to being tied would seem to throw away the history of what being a Cup Series Champion is about..

AND I still don't think it would make the Miami race any "better."
