So the Tundra can get 4.30 gears, with 4wd? Thats the perfect gearing combo for leveled on 35s guys. How come we still can't buy these gears for Ford? Is Tundra not reverse cut transfercase?

Here is where I heard it @ 2:04

It's just marketing but doesn't mean anything. You can't really compare the rear-end ratio from truck to truck without taking the transmission gearing into account. The Tundra with 4.30s actually has higher gearing than a Ford with 3.73s because of the transmission gearing. Toyota uses a 3.333 first gear with the 5.7 compared to Ford's 4.17 first gear on all F150s.

Toyota: 3.333 x 4.30 = 14.332
Ford: 4.17 x 3.73 = 15.554

Good point, thanks. Explains the oddly slow 0 - 60 unloaded time for the Tundra. All these years it would be cool if some company actually made 4.30s reverse cut for the Ford folks.
