Does lowering a pickup truck tailgate improve fuel economy?

They did. Actually, two different episodes. Both times they found no gains and sometimes loss with the tailgate down.

We need to take a trip back to 1989.

Before the interwebz, the rumor mill at the auto parts store was solid on the Pro Net. It was the must have. Mine was promptly removed by a case of beer while launching from a stop light while drag racing.

^^^That car has seen a few replacement parts. They were pretty good cars, but had their own issues.

I don't dislike VW. In fact they build some pretty cool stuff.
