GM is already addressing the issue of the unsightly engine bay. I heard that the new GM trucks come standard with something called a "hood." It will clean up the front area of the truck to put the engine bay out of view.

To me, it's a sign that other things may be just as unrefined. Go open the hood on your X5 and tell me if it looks messy. :D

Almost all engine bays are disheveled and unorganized, you just can't see it because there's plastic covers over everything.

My Accord is exceptionally clean and neat underhood and has no plastic covers over anything. It can be done right.

Of course there are bits of every engine bay that look a tad scattered.

I finally saw one of these in person this week. Someone at work bought one and it was parked next to my car when I came out for lunch.

They look a lot better in person. The creases around the wheel wells aren't as bad as they look in the pictures. I still don't care much for the plastic crap they put around the outside edge of the fender/wheel wells. But, overall, it was a nice looking truck.

I did some pricing online and even with the GM Employee Discount..

After seeing a bunch of Chevy and GMC crewcabs on the road here, I must say I like em. The square wheel openings aren't all that bad in person. The only people upset by it will be the "My truck must have big O tires or I'm not a man" types.

(I must admit I do sorta like big O tires)

Yeah, the wife and I went to dinner last night and I stopped in front of a brand new Silvy in the parking lot (in my favorite blue color, forget the name now)

I am liking them more and more
