The GM's in your price range will treat you well. I don't buy the 100K tranny blowouts though. There are many, many more out there still running than have been rebuilt.

I know of lot that have made it well past 100k.

I have a friend that has a 2008 Tahoe with 200+ thousand and still has original trans and engine.

Mine stock 4.6 is at 170k on the stock trans... Just saying why not go back to something you're familiar with... But I can see where you would want more power. You could go with a 2v 5.4 or even a 07 or later 3v 5.4

I don't need the power, the 4.6 had enough for anything I needed, however my dad just bought a bass boat so it would be nice to have a little more power to tow it with.

How big is the boat? I tow mine all the time and have plenty of torque with the edge evo.

I haven't seen any trend where the 4L60 was croaking in large numbers. They seem like pretty solid units. Of course a lot depends on their use and maintenance.

I haven't seen any trend where the 4L60 was croaking in large numbers. They seem like pretty solid units. Of course a lot depends on their use and maintenance.

I think that is the key to any brand or truck for that matter, take care of it, it will take care of you.

I really like the 07+ Fords. It would certainly be my #2 consideration.

I don't think you can hardly beat a GMT800 for time proven reliability.

I could not do a Tundra. My best friend has one and it runs like a raped ape, but falling apart and he treats it great. I had the pleasure of dealing with a Tundra tailgate first hand. Piece of shit.

I am really liking the titans. Matt (one of my techs) has one and its a pretty sweet ride. Don't expect much for mileage though. It does run strong.

Pulling is only half the battle.... stopping is the hard part Glad I wasn't riding with you when you decided to pull that wagon lol
