No, that's not a banana in my pants.
Kinda been tossing around the idea of selling my Suburban. Its a 2001 with a 5.3 engine, has about 120,000ish miles on it. Its a 2wd LS trim package, has 3.73 rear end. I purchased the truck in January 2006 for $16,900 with 52k miles on it. Since then it has always had Mobil1 synthetic oil in it, and for at least the past 2 years I have been running Amsoil XL Series in it.
As far as repairs, I have replaced the battery several times, most recently in January of this year. I replaced the AC Compressor and a few other AC parts along with it in June 2011 (with brand new Delco parts) and I replaced the water pump at the same time.
Other upgrades that I can't exactly remember dates on include:
Front and rear drilled and slotted rotors with Wagner Thermoquiet ceramic pads
2006 OEM Electric fans with OEM Relay harness
Blackbear performance custom tune
145 amp alternator (used)
Auto page alarm with remote start and 2 way paging
Custom blue LED backlighting on all interior panels and switches in the dash and doors
Front air dam/valance from a 2006 Suburban LTZ along with the fog lights
6000k HIDs in the fog lights and the low beams
2010 Sierra OEM 17 inch six spoke wheels with Yokohama Geolandar AT tires
The transmission was just rebuilt in 10-2012
03-06 DL3 turn signal and power folding mirrors, custom wired to work on my 01 truck
T-Rex polished billet grill ( overlay style) and upper bumper cap grill
7 inch roof mounted flip down monitor with a DVD player mounted in the center console where the factory cassette deck was mounted
Alpine CD player with USB input, AUX RCA inputs ( currently connected to the DVD player) And full speed IPod control
And probably a few other mods/upgrades I forgot about.
I'm just trying to get an idea of what you guys think I could get for it. Looking at used car ads in my area, other 2001 Suburbans are selling as low as $4000 and as high as $10,000. Of course the $8,000+ ones all have 100k miles or less and are the LT trim.
I don't want to sell it ( mainly because I know its in such good condition and its very reliable for its age) but I am in a financial bind trying to get my wife the medical care she needs right now (she was recently diagnosed with Huntington's disease) and trying to pay all of our bills plus my own medical bills has us in a bind now.
