The more I look the more rust I find. Sitting still in my driveway over night, the coolant went dry. The coolant is going from point A to an unknown point B. I'm gonna let it sit another day and take the spark plugs out and turn it over to see if the coolant blows out. If not I'm gonna pull the plug and see if it's in the oil. If any of those two scenarios play out then there's no telling how long it has been going on. Just getting the gasket replaced and possibly having issues with the crank bearings like the dodge did or have to take it back apart later down the road cause of cylinder damage from sitting water has me just wanting to give it back and buy from someone else. I'd want nothing more than to be able to snap my fingers and have all the problems fixed. I'm loving the Avalanche, just not the issues in front of me or the ones possibly in the near future. If I give it back and get my money back, I'm gonna try to find another Avalanche..

That's all understandable. But, you can't work anything out if you're not talking to them...? :dunno:

The dealership has called me about 20 times today.. I'm not answering until I talk to the lawyer..

If they're offering to FIX IT, why jack with a lawyer?
+1

Let them own up and fix the problems. I've have my fair share of attorneys; for lemon law, divorce, and other civil matters. They will cost you more money in the long run and you will most likely come out just over break even. Unless this vehicle is new(which it isn't) you will not have much recourse. You signed a contract for the vehicle. Unless there is fraud involve(again will be costly to prove), you will be on the hook for all these fees and court cost.

The dealership is willing, I would act the with the same manner.

The dealership is supposed to inspect and repair a vehicle... They're supposed disclose that a vehicle has problems, they're liable for selling you a vehicle under false pretenses.

At least, that's the way it is up here.

I'm paying $50 to find out exactly what the law is and what my options are. I can't "work anything out" in my uneducated state. I have no clue what to about it. I just don't want to be screwed over. I'm willing to talk to them and come to a deal. Yesterday the only deal they wanted to make was telling me to put "the new age carbon fiber stop leak" in it.

I don't want to say, "fix it or I'm taking it back" if taking it back is not an option.

Just speaking for myself here, but if *I* were working at the dealer and realized someone had given you a boneheaded answer like that and then made a big effort to reach out to you to rectify things and you were non-responsive, I might be inclined to think you were going to be a dick about things and that might make me stick to the absolute minimum letter of the law in fixing anything for you...

That's just me, though.. :dunno:

I hope you get it worked out!

BTW, have they left messages or just doing a bunch of calls and hangups?

Checked it out yesterday. No water in the cylinders or oil. It was to hot to investigate farther. Gonna let the local mechanic shop diagnose exactly what's going on..
