Re: Wheels - Time for some changes - UPDATE: I ordered pink ones!

The centercap on the Krank reminds me of a turtle for some reason, I was uploading into photobucket saw a thumbnail of the Krank on screen and started laughing.

The new ones in all black do look much better than the machined variation though.

The cap only looks enormous because that Krank is a smaller wheel.

I think it's the way the spokes go into the cap that make it look bigger and like a tortoise lol.

But I haven't figured it out, and the general consensus does matter to me, I don't take it lightly.

Here are the choices, and the pros and cons of each one.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
20x10 -19 BMF SOTAs Death Metal (gloss with machined accents)

Pros
1. Deepest lip out of the 20x10 wheels (4.8", this is big for me, no pun intended)
2. Lighter, stronger wheel?

Cons
1. Getting to be too common (don't care if it's just online either and not locally)
2. Pricey $$
3. Difficult to clean (face/spokes)
4. Somewhat unagressive appearance

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
20x10 -24 Fuel Kranks (entire face powdercoated in a black matte/satin finish, entire lip pcoatd in a high gloss black)
Pros
1. Aggressive, evil looking wheel
2. No machining (will look sinister on my truck)
3. Nobody else will have the same exact wheels, one-offs
4. Matte/Flat face with gloss lip provides depth
5. Reasonably priced

Cons
1. Spokes are too chunky/flat faced?
2. Haven't seen them on enough trucks yet in that size/offset to determine how they will look in the real world
3. Difficult to clean (face/spokes)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
20x10 -24 Fuel Throttle
Pros
1. Agressive looking wheel
2. A lot of machining (will accent other polished parts under truck)
3. Slightly easier to clean than the SOTAs
4. Reasonably priced

Cons
1. Matte finish over entire wheel, lip lacks depth
2. Too much machining on wheel might not look right on my truck

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
20x10 -24 Fuel Throttle (entire face powdercoated in a black matte/satin finish, entire lip pcoatd in a high gloss black)
Pros
1. Very aggressive, evil looking wheel
2. No machining (will look sinister on my truck)
3. Slightly easier to clean than the SOTAs
4. Nobody else will have the same exact wheels, one-offs
5. Matte/Flat face with gloss lip provides depth
6. Reasonably priced

Cons
1. None

:dunno:

How much are you talking about with regards to Reasonably priced vs Pricey $$ ?? :dunno:

The death metal black SOTAs are like $408 ea., I can supposedly get them for $335 from a shop 1 1/2 hours from me according to James, but I still don't see how they could sell it for that little. The Throttles are $262 ea.

You should've went with 20x10's, why'd you go with the 20x9's anyway?

Oh, and as far as you getting stealth versions of the Novakanes, forget it. If you hate the fact some of the machining areas on your wheels are showing white spots, the black powdercoat on the Stealth BMF's is CRAP and won't hold up for sh*t. READ BELOW. They need to offer better coating for $400 wheels.
