Offset is how far the center of the wheel sits compared to the hub.... Basically if it's going to stick out past the fender, rub something, or not.

The P255 passenger tire, 255 millimetres wide, the 70 is the aspect ratio... Your side wall is 70% of the tread width. The 17 is rim size.

The 110 is your load index, and the letter S is your speed rating.

The M+S means the tires are rated for mud and snow

Offset is the distance from the mounting face of the hub to the centerline of the wheel, basically determining how far the wheel sticks in or out. Positive offset means the hub on the wheel is closer to the outside edge of the rim, negative means is closer to the inside edge. Too much or too little can cause issues with the wheel sticking out too far stressing wheel bearings or tucking in too close and hitting mechanical bit under the truck

Poking around, it looks like your stock wheels are 8" wide 17" diameter with a +24 offset and 5.44" backspacing ( the distance from the face of the hub to the inside edge of the wheel) There is some acceptable variation in these numbers, as aftermarket wheels are sized to fit a variety of vehicles and every manufacturer is a bit different. Also important to keep track of are the bolt spacing and bore size- how far apart the lugnuts are and how big is the hole in the middle.

P255/70R17 110S M+S
P= Passenger car tire
255 = width of the tire from sidewall to sidewall
70 = height of the sidewall is 70% of the width
R = radial tire
17 = 17" wheel diameter
110S = carrying weight and speed rating of the tire

So what would you guys recommend for the rims size wise? I was thinking maybe 20 or 22. I did check out tire rack to see what size I liked but it is still hard to tell without looking at them on the actual vehicle.

Tire size how do I tell which size I will need since I want to buy the nittro grappler tires.

Thanks for the help.

With a level, you can go P305/55R20. Fits on 20 x 9, or 20 x 8.5

Any thoughts on ATX, XD Series or Hurst? I found a couple of wheels on tire rack that I liked in the color PVD. I don't want anything to flashy or gawdy looking.

I will post a couple of links when I get home tonight.
