Yep! On one of my last trips, I decided "no more mods until this sucker's paid off.. and THEN I can start thinking about skid plates, different tires, etc.." Not much point in sinking extra money into it while I'm still making payments on it.

Being a ChryCo V6 who knows. Maybe a new head, lifters, cam phasers, fuel injectors, or being a 4x4 Jeep maybe a new diff or transfer case. :jester:

You have the 3.6, right? Have you been happy with it?

Mostly, its no V8 but it can move the Jeep decently. The 3.06 final drive ratio kills it off the line but once its up and running it moves just fine and has no trouble passing or merging. Other than it being a dog off the line it doesn't seem much slower than the 5.3 in my Sierra was. It ticks for a second or two when on cold start ups after it's sat for a few hours but no worse than the 5.3 did. The oil filter location is really convenient, on the top between the cylinder banks. Would I buy one again? Depends, with the current bullet proof 5 speed behind the V6 and the turd 4 turned 5 turned 6 speed behind the 5.7 Hemi, no question. After they move to the 8 speed I'd just have to drive them both and see. :dunno:

Good info. Thanks.

I'm looking at Wranglers today and might drive one with a 3.6 if I have time.

Outta be fun with the 6 speed stick and 3.73 gearing.

They had some trouble with the 3.6 heads but seems like that problem cropped up in some of the 12s but has supposedly been fixed with redesigned heads. Haven't had any powertrain problems on my 11 besides some poor early programming bugs in the PCM (knock on wood).
