Ok guys here is an update: Im going to get a code scan today. I was also going to put up a video but the Yukon (aka. Octane) is fine today. Weird huh? No problems at all, no popping, clunking, or jerking. Smooth trans. shifts and all. I mean seriously what the hell!?!?!? Like I said strange very strange. I will post the codes after I get them guys and thanks for the input so far.

Ok the only code that came back was a multi plug misfire. I didnt change the wires when I swapped out those gimmick E3 plugs someone put in with some NGK IX Iridium's as soon as I bought the truck from my sister 4 weeks ago. I'll change the wires like I should have and the rotor cap too for that matter. I'm going to see if it acts crazy in the morning and try to get a video up.

Ok guys sorry I haven't been on here I've been traveling with my job( im in Vegas now ). But before I left I had my wife drive forward while I layed on the ground and looked. Come to find out the front drive shaft is trying to turn but it's not even in 4wd. That's the poping and clunking so what the hell could cause that and it doesn't do it everyday either. Plus all 4wd power and fuses have been unplugged Like I said strange , I'm going to drop the transfer case when I get back to NC

Could it be that with the power and fuses pulled it defaults to 4x4? Or got stuck there? :dunno:

Transfer case control module could be going out... Put it in 4x4 and take it out, it might "reset" it...

If it continues to do it in 4x4, your transfer case needs some looking at...

It was doing this while the fuses and encoder motors were plugged in. I switched the truck to 2wd and unplugged them and removed t case fuse to try and exclude them from possible causes of the malfunction. When in motion the front shaft will try and turn but then pops because it can't. I sure I hornets nest is waiting for me when I take the t case down :-(
