They are out of control, the OE units are not as bad as the millions of $10 Amazon LEDs that are out there, shoved into halogen reflector housingsI should get them just to return the favor of being blinded.![]()
I do miss the simplicity of changing out the old glass units of yesteryear. I have to take out the air filter box on my truck to replace the passenger side bulb. They are out of control, the OE units are not as bad as the millions of $10 Amazon LEDs that are out there, shoved into halogen reflector housings
Everything is a bit more challenging on the newer trucks.I do miss the simplicity of changing out the old glass units of yesteryear. I have to take out the air filter box on my truck to replace the passenger side bulb.
You have to move stuff to get to stuff. I miss working on vehicles from the 60's and 70's. They were easy.Everything is a bit more challenging on the newer trucks.
I had to change out both of my batteries on the HD recently. That was a much bigger task than ever for a pick up truck battery swap
As much as I'd have liked to be using the signature or XL series, the price is keeping me using the OE. At least it's 100% synthetic. I change it out around every 5K, so using the OE is fine.
Not a damn thing wrong with OE 5w30, especially in the earlier model LSs. I ran it for years in our Tahoe, and that engine was so clean, the oil looked like it did when I poured it in 6000 miles earlier.I changed the oil in it yesterday. Two weeks before I did, I put 2 bottles of Amsoil PI in the tank and filled it up. Drove that tank out and filled up again. I have that tank down to almost a 1/4 tank. When I changed the oil, that nasty crap was black as could be. I'm sure the PI did some thorough cleaning. I think the old pig was happy to get some new blood and a filter.
This pig of mine has almost 274K on it and still purrs with plenty of power. I've had people tell me that it sounds like a vehicle with about 50K on it. Some, even the guy who does the oil spray for me, can't believe a 13 year old truck with that many miles still runs good and has no rust at all.Not a damn thing wrong with OE 5w30, especially in the earlier model LSs.
