Hmmmm.... Found out I have to pay $360 to upgrade my OnStar to be able to use my phone to start my truck, or not... Dammit. Lol

Call & bitch. See if you can get it for free! :D2
I tried, lol. Canada no longer has a CDMA/2G phone network, which is why the upgrade is needed, lol.

Does your remote start work more than twice with the app?

as long as you use it at least once during the free trial when you buy, it will work for key fob for 5 years regardless whether you pay for the service.
Yes... But I can't use the free trial, lol. No service right now... Without the hardware upgrade, there's no OnStar service in Canada for any vehicle older than 2015ish.

Oh. In that case, get a new truck! :jester: [emoji38]

More than twice? In a row, you mean? :dunno: I've only ever had it cycle off once or twice and I'm usually ready to go by then. [emoji38]

Interest rates made it not worth trading the truck off, lol.

Yes, in row, lol. When you use the actual key fob to remote start, you only get two cycles, then you need to use the key before you can use remote start again. Does using the phone app let you start it more than twice? Lol

ah, now i understand what you're asking...no, the app doesn't get you around the two start remote limit.
That's BS, lol. Ford lets you bypass the limit, lol

:dunno: As I said before, I've never needed to remote start it from the app even twice, much less more than twice.

Maybe PenguinLover can answer that question, since he's in a cooler climate than I generally am.
Nope, dos is all you get. It's enough to warm mine up in the single digit weather.

It's more the times I start it, then end up being sent back out to work... So having to reset the count with the key is a pain, lol. Still.... The upgrade cost is still cheaper than aftermarket systems.
