I just went through this as well. 9 year old batteries finally came due. The AGMs I put back in there were right around what you paid.

I joked with the wife, new tires, new batteries..."you know what this means, don't you?"

She replied "You are going to trade it in..."

Hope the 6.2 works for you! Sounds like there’s some issues with the newer 5.3’s. Those AT4 trucks are nice.
