Dropped it off at the dealership so they can over charge me to force a regen on my truck

Ouch!
Yep... Truck got shut off during a regen... Didn't like that... [emoji38]

So you got the "Cleaning Exhaust Filter, do not shut off" message like it says in the manual?
No. The message did not appear, otherwise I'd have gone for a drive.

They might have fixed it for newer ones, but mine does not give any indication in the truck that it's performing a regen, unless you are going under 30MPH and it needs to _start_ a regen... If it's already in regen, it doesn't tell you...

A forced regen by the stealership. 2011+ is not currently supported by EFILive for that, unfortunately

I'm not familiar with diesels, though. What's a regen? What purpose does it serve?
It burns off soot that collects in the DPF... And on the LML diesels, at least, also is restrictive enough that the truck doesn't come with a muffler from the factory, lol

Nor has mine. I read it in the manual. I have yet to see the indicator in 1600 miles. I can fucking smell it after I park though, and see the mileage drop when it's doing it

It's been so long since my last noticable regen that I forgot what the smoke coming out of the passenger side of my hood meant [emoji38] I thought I had a leak of some sort... Coolant/oil/fuel... This was about two days after oil/fuel filter change.

My manual doesn't state anything about a notification to keep driving, only that it tells you if it needs one and you're not driving...

The regen started 3 blocks from my house, so there wasn't time for my mileage to change [emoji38]

Dennis, are you ever going to change your signature?

What really sucks is DPF on off-highway equipment. The entire system failed on a company owned 300T crane a while back and was outrageous to fix (don't specifically remember, but want to say $20-30-ish range) and they'll go into regen at the stupidest times and lose most of the capacity when in regen for some reason, which has shut jobs down for 30 minutes while it does it's thing.
