So you turn it to off but it's goes back to Auto? Guess I forgot about that on my truck but can't say I even ever tried to take it off Auto. Didn't really bother me to have my headlights on when it's overcast. Better safe than sorry.

I have bright orange marker lights lit up on a 6000# Tahoe. I shouldn't be easy to miss.

It goes back to auto each time the vehicle is started. The point here is that I always turn them off so I'm now saving myself the hassle of having to do so each time I get in the vehicle. Fortunately, it takes all of 2 minutes and one dollar.

I much prefer auto headlamps. It's one of my favorite features on GM trucks. Our damn Honda doesn't have em... GRRRRR.

Makes sense then, just didn't remember it couldn't be left in off without reverting to Auto.

I'm with Jim, I love them and have never been able to make sense of Honda and Toyota's hesitation and random pattern to include them. My roommate in college had a well equipped 06 Tacoma that didn't have them and then my GF at the time had a plain as could be Corolla that did have them, but there was no way to turn them off.

Do you really forget to turn your headlights on when it gets dark? Is that what I have to look forward to? :jester:

No. I just find it a very convenient feature.

It's just something else not to worry about. I know mine also come on with the wipers regardless of how bright it is outside. It's also easy to forget in town with street lights and DRLs...did that more than once on the old S10.

I know, Jim. That was a joke.

I get that.

I really do like it as a feature. I like the fact that they can still be turned off if needed, but the auto function works quite well for me. I do think the DRL thing is a bit stupid.

I guess I just don't personally see the need to have all that shit done for me. I understand others enjoying the convenience, I just don't like running around with my headlights on.
