$$$$$$$$, I am just a lowly married E-5 in the Navy, no kids, but a nice freakin' mortgage, and my wife needed a new car(Mustang GT) and I needed a new truck, as evident by the f-ing fire I had to put out...... So I went to the Dodge dealership and got a great deal on my new truck, $21,900 + T T T, and the extended warranty and 6 year service contract brought it up to 27,000 out the door, I may be young and fairly dumb, but couldn't pass up such a ripe cherry deal such as that....:D:D

If you are talking about the truck in your sig... that's a damn nice looking truck. I like the new Rams.

+1

Best looking truck IMO.

Only got the one pic for now.

P.S. The 4.7L puts out 330 ft. lbs of torque, the 2000 Ford V-10 is rated at 410 ft. lbs of torque. Not a huge difference. But what do I know, I only owned the damned thing for almost ten years.........:dunno::cool:

Looks nice! Dodges are always the lookers of trucks!

I personally consider that a pretty substancial difference in torque, but it's not a big deal. I can be overly critical sometimes, so please don't take it personally.

I guess it depends on which way you are coming from. From 410 down to 330 not so much, but from 250 up to 330 way bigger difference IMO.

Well, I read that it was 310hp (same as the 4.7) and 425lb-ft of torque (96lb-ft difference) for the Super Duties. Then again, you don't really notice torque as much when you're not pulling a load. :dunno: I bet the 4.7 makes a hell of a lot better engine for daily driving, though.

I't more than my 305 so it's still good in my book :)

Yeah, too bad GM always seems to lag behind in the power department. If GM is so serious about cutting costs, though, I really think the 4.8 should be ditched and just leave the 5.3. They get pretty much identical mileage and the 5.3 makes more power and torque, so the 4.8 really has no point. The 4.3 could use a good updating or replacement, as well. I'd hate to see a V6 with such great torque abandoned, though. That's something most ALL truck engines seem to lack these days in comparison to their horsepower amounts.

Oh?

GM 6.2l = 403 hp, 417 lb.-ft
Dodge 5.7l = 380 hp, 407 lb.-ft
Toyota 5.7l = 381 hp, 401 lb.-ft
Ford 5.4l = 310hp, 365 lb.-ft

Yeah, GM does seem to be lacking in the power department. :wtf:
