Very sad day for desert racing

I was there, fortunately I was about a mile or so down the road and did not see the accident or aftermath directly.

Exactly they were too dam close, you can't control the fans along an off-road course that goes for miles. Unfortunately people were putting their lives at risk when your that close to those vehicles. Those races need to go on, another one is scheduled next month and I heard talk to stop it, not fair to the racers and all involved!

The last race we went to was the mint 400. They only allowed fans in a few designated areas and you couldn't get very close to the track. Plus the BLM was patrolling everywhere to keep people where the needed to be. Now it is evident why these rules are in place. This was an unfortunate yet preventable tragedy.

They want to ban all of it now. ATV riding, camping, dirt bike riding, off-roading in general. BLM has that see look now attitude to put the icing on the cake. Yet I know a few drag racers and nastard events they have people killed. Off-roading is in my blood, what I have grown up on and will continue to grow up on. Once strapped in the car or off riding, nothing else matters. Just out their having fun and watching out for one another.
