Well the story here is that about 2 years ago my ac needed some work. so i got a reman compressor from AutoZone and a freind of mine and i put it on, changed out the suction and discharge line assembly. Pulled a vacuum and all was good...for a little while. Stayed cold all summer that year but over time it was not getting at cold. Low and behold the compressor started leaking....imagine that a Delphi reman really a Delphi HT6 compressor period having a leak? So anyway I've been talking with a GM master tech about ac and he recommended a sanden ac compressor vs the delphi since the are lest lickly to leak. Found a local dealer and bought 2 compressors, two driers, and two orifice tubes. One for my truck and one for his. Install pics coming soon.....

I think Sanden makes the best compressors. They have used them on Imports for years with great success.

Not to be nosey, but how much did that compressor run you. Mine is slowly leaking as well and I think I'll have to replace it this summer sometime. Also is it necessary/smart to buy the other things you bought as well, I've never really delt with A/C much so I haven't a clue.

This will be cool to follow....uh sorry, no pun intended.

Are you planning on having a shop recharge everything then?

I plan on taking picture throughout the whole process. Which should be sometime next week or weekend.

Tyler – No big deal asking since I paid retail. Each compressor was $225 + tax although I found them on the internet for $184 + tax and shipping. Driers were $26, OT was $2. I bought them from a local dealer. One year warranty on the compressor requires purchase of drier and tube if not its voided. Some people have told me that purchasing a drier wasn’t necessary since when you pull a vacuum on the system you “burn” all of the moister out too. But a Ford master tech told me quote”Its only $20, cheap insurance.”

Matt – No sir my dad has gauges and a pump at his house. He used to do AC work on the side.

I will be replacing mine one day this week. I got all AC Delco parts for mine. But I need to get a shop to recover the 134 out of mine first. Mine wasn't leaking, but my compressor has started locking up.

I hope I don't have to have mine replaced. It still worked as of yesterday, but the fan sounded louder than I remember. Still blew out cold air.
