When I think of snapper I am reminded of some pretty crappy snow blowers that never ran when there was snow on the ground. Maybe this was just a memory I had since my Dad was not Mechanically inclined and once upon a time when I was a kid, neither my brothers or I could care less making something run that would not for my Dad.

It's not a Scagg and I don't want to pay for "just a brand name" like our John Deere's. I looked at quite a few mowers and you just can't beat the price of this mower for the features that it has and how well it performs. I figured, it couldn't hurt to try it out.

I almost walked away from them but learned that True Green switched over to them a year or two back. Dealers were having warranty claims out of this mower left and right with the Kohler engine so they started ordering them with the Briggs. True green reported that they had the least amount of warranty claims with these mowers and power train compared to any other mower that might have had a kohler or Kawasaki engine.

Well, enough Blah, Blah, Blah and more Blah....

Here she is sporting a 61" deck to add to our collection of lawn mowing equipment.

What issues where they having with the other engines? Granted I don't run my ExMark six or seven days a week but it has been good to me the past 10 years with the Kawasaki engine.

Granted, I only use a push mower for my needs, but every one of them I've ever owned had a Briggs engine.

From everyone I have talked to around here, and mind you I mow commercially 170 acres a week, no one has very many good things to say about those. Actually no one talks about them, because they just aren't up to par with other mowers. You may have good luck with it and I hope you do. It just wouldn't be in my choice list for mowers.

We do run 2 John Deere's and a Toro. The toro has a 10' deck, it was about $55,000.00 new 3 years ago. The John Deere we bought last year has a 100" deck and it was right around $32,000.00 and the year before that we bought the John Deere 997 with a 72" deck and we paid around $13,000.00 for it. That's with government discounts though.

I guess I just generally think of Snapper's as residential mowers. I don't see any commercial outfits running them. Maybe you're on to something new though. :dunno:
