That's a cool idea. Mitch, I love the switch install. Looks like it grew there!

I really like that idea of a tailgate activated switch and having an over-ride switch in the cab so you can turn them off when they are on (just the opposite of the Cargo Light switch).

If you have any questions on the install of the lights, let me know and I'll be glad to help.

If you were doing it over, would you still tap into the 12+ trailer harness or would you run a new power?

I would still tap the trailer harness. The lights don't pull much power at all from that circuit so its never an issue.

The only thing that I'd do different is buy better light sets than the ones I bought. They were cheap ones I got on ebay from China and one strand has stopped working so I need to fix it.

One bit of advice I have for you, even though the light strands have peel and stick tape on them already, put 3M double sided tape on them to hold them up. The tape that comes on the lights just isn't good enough to make them stick properly.

Well, I already bought some cheap china lights these and I hope they work out.

I may have to double tape them! Thanks for that!
