I just changed my pump in my 07. Pull the bed. Its way easier.

Also, why does you fuel gauge say its empty if you say there's a half tank? Doesn't that usually pick up your fuel level right at key on?

Hooray, truck is running again!!

Was it the fuel pump? Nope, fuel pressure was 57psi at idle and once we got it running 64psi. Was it even fuel related, Nope!

What I really didn't pay attention to before, I didn't have power locks or power windows, the interior courtesy lights didn't come on when you open the doors, no door chime, no radio, and as someone mentioned earlier, the needles didn't move when you turned the key on.

After tearing apart everything under the console to get to all the wires (thanks Best Buy for putting your shotty remote start wiring everywhere we needed to get to, at least you soldered all your connections, thanks), my buddy started probing all the wires. He hooked up is Tech2 and couldn't even talk to the computer. He hooked his multimeter up to the OBDII port and started taking readings. He found that there was some wire/connection/module sending a constant signal, basically overriding all the other communication in the truck.

I mentioned to him when I was checking all the fuses yesterday morning, when I pulled the INFO fuse (OnStar/RSE) that I would get courtesy lights, but never thought to try to start the truck then, so I just put the fuse back in, tried to start the truck and didn't work, so I moved on. We then pulled the INFO fuse, left it out, the truck would run, everything was working minus all the idiot lights lit up like a Xmas tree.

So we started to narrow down what was all on that fuse/circuit. First we thought OnStar as he said he's had a lot of faulty modules come in and we just tried to disconnect it, put the fuse back in, but the truck wouldn't run, so wasn't that.

Then we pulled up a wiring diagram and saw the Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) and Rear Seat Audio (RSA) was on that circuit as well. Then a light bulb went off, before I shut the truck off on Sunday, my soon-to-be-5-year-old daughter was pushing the buttons on the RSA with her feet and messing around with the RSE above her head in the back seat. I pulled the plug for RSA, that wasn't it. Unplugged the RSE, plugged the INFO fuse back in, truck ran normal!

To get everything functional again and using the diagram, he pulled out the wire corresponding to the U42 option and left it out. So something along this wire, whether it's grounding somewhere from the connector up to the RSE or she pushed a button and it's stuck on somehow sending a constant signal, who knows. I'll wait until another day to tear out the headliner and find the definitive issue (besides, I either have to clean or replace the headliner as I have a leak around the 3rd brake light).

So, that's it for now, sorry for the long description (I do a lot of documentation for work and if you were up for a read, then here you go, that's everything we did in 3 hours). Happy Tuesday to ya!

All this mumbo jumbo shit sure makes one miss the simplicity of the good old days.
Glad you got it figured out.
