We've had weird weather lately. 80's last Saturday, rain yesterday, and today a few inches of snow :fume:

Yesterday drove the truck to church and back home without issues in the rain, went to start it last night and I get this:

[VIMEO]91886416[/VIMEO]

I've checked all relevant fuses, all are fine. I can hear the fuel pump turn on with the key in the On position. I removed the air intake thinking it wasn't getting enough air, nope. Has over 1/2 tank of fuel. No codes. Now the battery is dead so have to wait until I can get it charged.

Ideas?

Agree, check the fuel pressure. You can get a test gauge from Auto Zone for free. There are good video's on YouTube to watch on how to check it. Mine didn't want to start after the first turn of the key, turns out my fuel pressure was low. Sounds like yours isn't enough to start it now.

So low fuel pressure would be the cause from a bad fuel pump or ...?

That was my experience. My fuel pressure was about 5psi below minimum specs and it would not want to start on first try. But did after that, I guess it primed the system enough to start by then.

Since there isn't any cost, checking the fuel pressure would be one of the first things I would do.

Fuel pressure check time. Key on engine off....55-62 psi

I had a similar issue, I assumed it was from e85, and stopped using. I had to give it throttle and it would fire and run rough for a few seconds and then it was fine, I ran a few tanks of reg fuel through it and it has been since.

From the sound of it trying to start, it's definitely a fuel issue.

Sounds like a dead fuel pump to me. Unfortunately a fairly common 100K occurrence.

Battery is charging (had to ride my bike over to Wally World to get a battery charger, those 40mph wind gusts in your face suck!), have a mechanic friend coming over tonight to assist. Will report back.

If it is a fuel pump, there's no better time to change my leaf springs than now, since I have to drop the tank anyways.
