If you spend Airstream $$, you're completely defeating the purpose of 'camping' (at least for the purposes you said before). That said, those tear-drop trailers were more expensive than I was expecting when I finally tracked down pricing on those things. :uhoh:  (They were still nowhere near Airstream prices, though.)

I am just in the thinking mode. I like the airstreams but I am leaning more towards buying a tent like the one that Dartboy posted.

Yeah. That would probably be much more economical.

At least for now and later on I can buy one of those trailers. One of my friends has a trailer and he tows it with his ram 2500

I have towed plenty of travel trailers with a 1500. You have plenty of truck for a smaller trailer. Just so you know :D I do understand that is not what you are looking for, but don't let anybody tell you that you can't do it.

The only problem with a trailer, is you have to park it somewhere when you're not using it. It's a lot easier to roll up a tent and stuff it in the basement :D Also, there's registration, insurance, upkeep and taxes to think about. It adds up.

Like caps, trailers are a whole lot cheaper used. Every now an then, I peruse my local Craigslist for one. Keep it on the small side and your truck shouldn't have any problems dragging it around. Keep an eye on the Gross Weight of the trailer, and max towing capacity of your truck

This is an excellent point. We have massive lots filled with people's trailers, because they have nowhere to put them. From experience, if it isn't at home, it won't get used, often. They are rotting in these storage lots.

Thank you. I figured that I could tow a trailer like the "toy" trailers but I still thought I would ask. I was looking at the RV site and it gave an option for me to select my truck. It gave me the options for what my truck could tow which was kind of cool. :)
