Ok, so as the title says I'm in the process of installing an inline thermostat for my transmission oil coolers. currently my aftermarket cooler is plumbed in series with my factory cooler in the radiator. My question is do I plumb the thermostat before both or just before the aftermarket one?

Here is a diagram of what I'm thinking. Which location should put the thermostat. 1 or 2?

I just got off the phone with the manufacture. They said to install it before the aux cooler. That way the warm coolant can help warm the oil as I drive on cold days.

Well I got it plumed in been driving around for a while 50* outside now and the hottest temp I've gotten was 160*. Sensor us in the test port. Seems like it should warm up way faster than this. I'd said I driven 20 miles mostly city once on the highway.

I think I'm going to move the sender to the pan and see what happens.

So plan B auto meter wants $11 plus shipping fir the weld in bung. So I ordered a drain plug kit but I'll use a copper crush ring instead of the nylon washer.

No to figure out where to drill that hole.

I put mine where it looked like a drain should've gone..
