Transmission code

[99 4X4 5.3]

Hey guys My wife and I have a 2004 chevy venture van. The transmission has been acting up, today it gave a code p0751 which says "shift solenoid A CKT performance or stuck off"

The van has 210,000 miles but the trans was rebulit about 2.5 years ago. Just out of warranty of course.

Any insight? I was thinking of flushing it and new fluid.

Depending on how long it has been, I'd probably at least try a fluid flush / change. Hopefully someone else can give some input on the actual P code.

It is a 4T65E slopOmatic.


If the trans is shot I am going to get rid of it and get a suburban. Something that if I have to work on it
I don't have to tear the whole damn thing apart.

I hate a front wheel drive.

If you have the pan off check all the connections in there, a connection could be loose.
