Transmission break in

I just had my Transmission rebuilt in October. I put about 2500 miles on it since then. Is there a break in period? I mean, after so many miles should I flush the transmission fluid? Is so, about how many miles should I drive it before replacing all the fluid?

Now would be a good time to drop the pan and change the filter and put new fluid in it.
If there is anything debris from the rebuild, it will now be in the pan.

80,000 mile break-in period. Don't run it hard or past 50mph until then.

Scotty, no breakin on a transmission that I'm aware of. It never hurts to change out the fluid early thought, depending on the shop that rebuilt it and on how clean they were when they did it. Fluid isn't expensive and it can only help if there is any wear material inside.

By the way, thanks for the Amsoil calendar that you sent me Nick.

And I know I want to upgrade soon to Amsoil ATF or some Dexron 6, because I know they only put Dexron III in it. I was mainly just wondering how long I should go before I change the filter and the fluid.

I wouldn't go past 10k miles. That is when I change out all the AT fluid on my new vehicles.
