I skipped all the back and forth in the thread, so I apologize if I repeat anything that's already been said, but we shopped/test drove both the 1st gen trailblazer and the acadia....before we bought our first acadia. That probably tells you what we think. :) The acadia rode better, handled better, was more comfortable, and could carry more.

Reliability wise, i can't speak to the trailblazer, but we've put 180k miles combined on the 2 we've had (75k on the '09, and 105k on the '12 so far) we haven't had any major issues on either. The only reason we got rid of the '09 was a 0% financing situation that worked very well in our favor.

I'm starting to get to the point where the '12 is needing more love, shocks, bushings, etc, but nothing crazy. the only thing i've found to be an annoyance is that this platform doesn't like to hold an alignment. Don't know if it's inherent to the platform, or the fact that my wife tries to drive a 4800 pound suv like it's a miata half the time.

You guys knock it off. Lee, clean up your thread, if you want.

My good buddy's 2010 Buick version just rolled 269K. It defeated the odds on the timing chains, apparently. He has been doing the 3000 mile oil changes, when he heard about the 3.6s beating up the oil.

Good luck with your decision.

The back and forth bickering reminded me a bit of the old days.
